Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Vice President George Afriyie has called for patience and support for Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, insisting that dismissing him at this stage would be counterproductive.
Speaking to Asempa FM, Afriyie suggested that the best approach would be to provide Addo with additional technical assistance rather than considering his removal.
“Sacking Otto at this point is not the right decision; instead, we should get him a more qualified coach to support him,” Afriyie said.
His remarks follow Ghana’s emphatic 5-0 win over the Central African Republic in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Stade d’Honneur in Meknes, Morocco.
The result keeps the Black Stars in pole position to secure a ticket to next year’s tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
