Asante Kotoko SC’s life patron, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has provided a significant financial boost to the club ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers against Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) of Morocco.
The Asantehene has donated $150,000 to the club’s Interim Management Committee (IMC) to support the team’s preparations and cover expenses for both the home and away legs of the crucial continental tie.
The generous gesture comes at a vital time for the Porcupine Warriors as they seek to secure progress in Africa’s second-tier club competition.
The donation underscores Otumfuo’s continuous commitment to the club’s success and his desire to see Asante Kotoko reclaim its place among the elite clubs on the continent.
The first leg of the tie is scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 19, 2025, following the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) decision to decline approval of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the fixture.
