Based on the circumstances that led to him saying his final goodbye to the Fabulous Club and it’s fans, and his subsequent move abroad to seek greener pastures, nobody expected Justice Nkuku Blay to return to Ghana within this short time,at least not in a matter of weeks .
But the former Asante Kotoko midfielder Justice Blay who was previously adored but now has his picture on the club’s Wall of Shame has returned to Ghana after an unsuccessful stay in the United States of America. Blay has reportedly failed to secure football contracts in the US as no club has been ready to offer him a deal ,with his agents giving up after being unsuccessful at every turn.
Blay recently revealed some dramatic personal conflicts within the Kotoko team,in an interview which later turned Kotoko supporters against him. He alleged that Kwame Poku tried snatching his girlfriend, and even admitted to assaulting his ex-girlfriend among other negative things unknown of a professional player. One of the cases even led to a police case during a confrontation between him and the lady.
He also revealed other negative practices in Kotoko camp ,but a subsequent investigation found out Blay is the black sheep in Kotoko ,with the player being thrown away from the Kotoko family.
After causing the mess, he left the soil of Ghana to the United States of America, to find a team as he had previously led a Kotoko side mixed with selected Ghanaians to defeat DC United .
But that could not materialize and www.ghanasportspage.com can reveal that Justice Blay is back in Ghana out of frustration claiming enough is enough . Sources close to the player claim the player is thinking of relaunching his career in the Arab world as he has been promised stints with two clubs in North Africa and Asia. Blay has indeed been spotted in Ghana making frantic moves to secure the necessary documents to relaunch his career.
It will be recalled that Justice Blay and Kotoko mutually agreed to terminate his contract after the 2024/25 season, despite him having one more year remaining,as a result of what was termed as indiscipline and unprofessional of a player previously seen as a leader in Kotoko. It’s yet to be seen if any club will still need his services based on his own admission of being a bad example and influence on players .
