Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah has secured a permanent deal to Libyan side Al Ahly Benghazi until 2027.
The deal was announced a few hours after the club exited the CAF Confederation Cup on Friday, October 24. According to our checks, Albert has penned down a two year contract with the Libyan Giants.
The 23-year-old attacker has been in scintillating form for the Porcupine Warriors since joining from Accra Great Olympics ahead of last season, emerging as one of the most consistent performers in the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors had lost by 6-1 on aggregate to Moroccan giants Wydad AC to miss the group stage of the continent’s second-tier club competition.
Amoah failed to score in both legs despite scoring in the first leg of the first preliminary round against Kwara United. That match ended 4-3 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
“We can confirm the permanent transfer of forward Albert Amoah to Libyan side AL AHLY BENGHAZI,”. Kotoko confirmed.
“Asante Kotoko is grateful to Albert for his services to the club and his achievements with us. We wish him the very best for the future”. The club stated on Friday.
Amoah netted 16 goals in 30 league appearances for Kotoko, establishing himself as the club’s most potent weapon in attack and one of the standout players in the domestic championship.
