Newly-promoted Hohoe United will be eager to return to winning ways when they welcome table-toppers Medeama SC to the Hohoe Sports Stadium on Saturday, November 1, 2025, in a highly anticipated Premier League match.
The Hohoe-based side endured a tough end to October, suffering consecutive 2–0 defeats to Aduana FC at home and FC Samartex 1996 away. Despite those setbacks, Hohoe United remain 10th on the league table with 8 points, having scored 7 goals and conceded 8.
As debutants in the top flight, they have shown promise, particularly at home, where they’ve been a tough opponent to beat. In four home matches so far, they’ve recorded two wins, one draw and one defeat, failing to score in just one of those outings. Ranked as the ninth-best home side this season, Hohoe United will look to capitalize on their home advantage as they seek a morale-boosting victory to halt their two-game losing streak.
Standing in their way, however, are league leaders Medeama SC, who travel in top form under the guidance of Coach Ibrahim Tanko. The 2022/23 champions have made a blistering start to the season, winning five of their seven league matches (W5, D1, L1) to amass 16 points, the highest tally in the league.
Medeama’s impressive run includes three wins and a draw in their last four games, extending their longest unbeaten streak since October 2024. All three victories in that period were narrow 1–0 triumphs, reflecting the team’s defensive solidity and efficiency in front of goal. Their latest success came last weekend, a 1–0 home win over newly promoted Swedru All Blacks.
The Mauve and Yellow have also been among the league’s most balanced sides this season, boasting both the best attack (12 goals) and one of the strongest defenses (4 goals conceded). However, their away form remains a concern, they’ve managed just one win from two away matches this season and have struggled on the road historically, with only one victory in their last 13 away league games (W1, D1, L11) since November 2024.
With contrasting home and away fortunes at play, Saturday’s clash sets up an intriguing battle. Hohoe United will be desperate to make a statement against the league leaders, while Medeama will aim to maintain their position at the summit and finally put their away troubles to rest.
