Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Mohamed Camara has received a call up by the Guinea senior men’s team ahead of international friendlies against Togo and Niger in Casablanca this month, November.
The 25-year-old has been in superlative form for the Porcupine Warriors in the domestic league, leading the two-time African champions to MTN FA Cup glory last season.
Their journey in the CAF Confederation Cup was however unimpressive as they suffered a 6-2 aggregate loss against Wydad Athletic Club in the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Camara was red carded in the first leg where they lost 0-1 to the Moroccan giants at the Accra Sports Stadium. The Guinean shot stopper’s superb form equally led them to the Champion of Champions title, and the Toyota Cup victory in South Africa where they defeated Kaizer Chiefs via a penalty shootout.
Camara is expected to leave Ghana after the Super Clash against rivals Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday, November 9, to join his national teammates in camp.
