The 2025 CAF Awards ceremony delivered a night of celebration for several African football powerhouses, but Ghana missed out on the Men’s and Women’s National Team of the Year categories.
Both the Black Stars and Black Queens missed out in their respective categories while Morocco emerged as the biggest winners, sweeping major national team honours.
Morocco dominated several categories—particularly with wins in both the men’s senior and youth brackets—while Nigeria continued to assert their long-standing excellence in women’s football.
The awards capped off a year of rising North African influence in continental football and growing recognition for young emerging stars across Africa.
