Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has noted that teams have a strong desire to beat Kotoko following his sides narrow loss to Basake Holy Stars.
Speaking after the match, Zito acknowledged the quality of his team’s performance but admitted their inability to convert chances cost them the game.
“Everybody wants to beat Kotoko. We didn’t play badly. We played good football, but putting the ball in the back of the net was once again the problem,” he said.
Despite the setback, the experienced coach remains confident about the club’s title ambitions.
“This is football, we are playing at home on Sunday. The team that leads the table leads us by three points. So we are still chasing the league title.”
Kotoko’s defeat means their perfect start to the 2025/26 campaign is over, but they remain well within reach of the top spot as they trail Leaders Aduana Stars by three points.
The Porcupine Warriors now turn their attention to a crucial Week 12 fixture against reigning champions Medeama SC, scheduled for Sunday at 3 PM at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
