Asante Kotoko SC have being charged by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee for allegedly failing to ensure the safety of match officials by allowing unauthorised persons in zone 2 at halftime where the officials were threatened and attacked.
According to the Disciplinary Committee, there was a misconduct on Sunday in Asante Kotoko SC week 12 fixture against Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Kotoko were held to a 2-2 draw at full time but at half time were down 2-0, and could not hold the peace of some fans but make their way to Zone 2 at half time, threatening and attacking match officials.
This action, hence has seen Kotoko breach Disciplinary code 2019 and the enhance match day safety and security protocol 2025.
The Premier league record holder’s (25), has till Wednesday, December 03, 2025 to respond to the charges.
