Reigning champion of the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 Algeria will kick off their FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 campaign today(Wednesday) against Sudan at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in the first round of Group D matches.
The match is considered one of the toughest in the group, which is also comprised of Bahrain and Iraq. Both Sudan and Algeria will aim to start their tournament campaigns with a valuable three points to boost their chances of advancing to the knockout stages.
Coach Kwasi Appiah’s Sudan team will enter the tournament with high morale after its 2-1 victory last week against Lebanon in the tournament play-off.
Sudan is also counting on defensive discipline and quick attacking runs to surprise their Algerian counterparts and achieve a perfect start in the group, which is considered one of the toughest in the tournament. Watch the game
