The Ghana Black Queens have capped off an impressive year by climbing to 3rd place in Africa in the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking released on 11 December 2025.
Ghana were previously ranked 5th on the continent in March 2025, but a remarkable turnaround in form has pushed them into Africa’s top three, ending the year on a string foot.
They now sitting ahead of Zambia and Morocco who are big guns in Women’s football on the continent.
The rise is powered by a strong 2024–2025 cycle in which the Black Queens won bronze at the 2024 WAFCON and went on to secure qualification for the 2025 WAFCON, reaffirming their resurgence on the continental stage.
The ranking boost stands as a testament to the team’s renewed competitiveness—marking their highest position in several years—and positions Ghana as one of the major threats heading into the next WAFCON tournament.
