Asante Kotoko academy prospect Lawson Kyei Manu marked a major milestone in his young career after making his first-team debut in the club’s 2-1 comeback win over Future Stars in the MTN FA Cup.
The highly rated youngster, who has been one of the standout performers in the Kotoko youth setup, was handed his maiden appearance as the Porcupine Warriors advanced to the next round of the competition.
His introduction adds to the steady pathway the club has been building between the academy and the senior side.
Kotoko had to fight back after conceding early, but two well-taken goals ensured they secured a 2-1 victory on the day. The debut of Manu was one of the biggest talking points, with supporters praising his composure and promise in a competitive fixture.
The club will now await their next opponents in the FA Cup after progressing to the round of 32.
