Asante Kotoko SC head coach, Abdul Karim Zito has hinted their chances of clinching the 2025/26 Ghana Premier league is very clear and possible after amassing all points from Eleven Wonders FC on Wednesday.
The Ghanaian giants with 25 league titles have set sight on winning the ongoing league in pursuant of returning to Africa, following a shambolic campaign in the ongoing CAF Inter-Club campaign. Kotoko secured the MTN FA Cup title to play in the CAF Confederation Cup but now aims at participating in the CAF Champions league.
Hence, putting in all their arsenal’s for the 2025/26 league title.
Following a 2-0 triumph over struggling Eleven Wonders FC in week 15 fixture, Kotoko pushes to 3rd on the league log with 27 points, just a point behind top placed Aduana Stars FC.
Speaking after the encounter at the University of Ghana Stadium, Karim Zito said points from Eleven Wonders FC is very important to their course of winning or trying to win the league title, expressing his excited for the big victory .
“Well I think I can’t describe the importance of this match, not we beating Eleven Wonders but acquiring the three points to support our objective of winning the league or trying to win the league makes it so important to me”
“Am very happy for the win and at the end of the day we smiled for all points”, he stated.
Karim Zito’s side will next face Bechem United FC in week 16 clash at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium, where they will continue to push for the top spot before first round ends.
