Asante Kotoko SC whitewashed Bechem United FC 6-0 on Sunday at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports stadium. The week 16 clash for the reds, ended in favour of the homers ensuring they push close to battling for the league title.
With Kotoko striker Morifing Donzo breaking the deadlock for the host in the first quarter of the encounter, Samba O’Neil doubled the lead for Guinean forward Donzo to net his brace for a first half 3-0 victory. Goals from Hubert Gyau, Johnson Oppong and Kwame Oppong after recess, dismantled the visitors Bechem United FC.
Following the enviable triumph, skipper for Ghana Premier league giants Asante Kotoko SC, Samba O’Neil praised his teammates for recording an enigmatic results over the Hunters on Sunday at home.
Samba applauded his mates and pronounced a charge for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier league title.
Samba meanwhile picked up a knock in the 49th minute and had to be replaced by Zackaria Fuseini for the remainder of game. He has however, reiterated it’s a minor setback back and would be back to inspire the team.

“A minor setback with my injury, but I will be back stronger”, Samba revealed.
Asante Kotoko SC following the heavy win now sits top of the table after week 16 fixture with 30 points.
They will take on newly promoted side Swedru All Blacks on Sunday January 4, 2026 at the Swedru Stadium.
