German giants Borussia Dortmund are set to establish their first official International Academy in Africa, with Ghana chosen as the host country.
The BVB International Academy Ghana is scheduled to launch in February 2026 and will offer structured youth development programmes for boys and girls aged 6 to 18.
The initiative will follow Dortmund’s global academy model, combining elite training pathways with recreational football opportunities.
The academy aims to identify, nurture, and develop young talents while providing them with professional coaching, modern training methods, and access to the club’s football philosophy.
It is expected to serve as a major hub for youth football development in the sub-region.
Borussia Dortmund’s move underscores Ghana’s growing reputation as a breeding ground for football talent and highlights the Bundesliga club’s commitment to expanding its global footprint and investing in grassroots football.
Further details on registration, locations, and coaching staff are expected to be announced ahead of the official launch.
