Ghanaian referee Daniel Laryea has been appointed to officiate the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semifinal clash between host nation Morocco and Nigeria.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed the appointment ahead of the highly anticipated encounter, which will see two of Africa’s football heavyweights battle for a place in the final.
This will be Laryea’s second match of the tournament, reflecting CAF’s confidence in his performance and experience at the highest level.
The Ghanaian referee is currently rated among the best officials on the continent.
The Morocco vs Nigeria showdown is to come off on Wednesday, January 14, 2025 as both sides target a spot in the AFCON final.
