Asante Kotoko’s Communications Director, Sarfo Duku has hinted that the club will not be in a hurry to fire head coach Abdul Karim Zito despite supporters calling for his head.

The experienced Ghanaian trainer has being under increasing pressure for weeks now with the last straw breaking the camel’s back, being a goalless draw at home to Berekum Chelsea FC. Zito have suffered three defeats in the ongoing 2025/26 league campaign after 18 league matches.

An outcome, which is not sitting well with club supporters, hence chanting for his sack.

Kotoko are still in contention for the league title having accumulated 31 points to sit 4th on the league standings.

Despite, the aforementioned many Kotoko fans are not satisfied with the performance of Karim Zito and wants him out. This constant call, led to an emergency meeting by Asante Kotoko SC Interim Management Committee (IMC) on Monday.

However, the IMC are firm and have opted to exhibit patience to supporters call with communication director Sarfo Duku saying they (IMC) are not in the rush to take any decision on such.

Highlighting that fact that, supporters will always call for the sack on head coach when results channel out inconsistently.

“When the expectation of our supporters is not being met, obviously, the focus will be on sacking the coach… but I can assure you that we will not rush into taking any such decision”

“I will plead with them to exercise patience”We need some consistency for once”, He affirmed.

“The technical team we brought have not spent up to one year. I don’t think that in football, you don’t have to give them enough time to achieve results.”

The former Asante Kotoko SC player and Dreams FC gaffer is expected to improve on his next four league matches to secure his job till end of season.

The Porcupine Warriors will play Bibiani GoldStars SC, Basake Holy Stars, Hearts of Lions FC and Hearts of Oak SC in their next four games.
