Sporting Director of Al Ahly Benghazi, Tarek Yehia, has explained the club’s decision to loan striker Albert Amoah back to Asante Kotoko just three months after signing him.
Amoah, who joined Benghazi in October 2025, completed a shocking return to the Ghanaian giants in January.
Speaking to GhanaSportsPage.com, Yehia revealed that the move was influenced by the Libyan league’s break, which runs from February to June due to the Ramadan period.
“Our league will go on break from February and resume in June because of Ramadan. So they requested Albert on loan and assured to give him game time while our league is on break,” Yehia said.
The Zamalek legend described the arrangement as beneficial to all parties, stressing that regular playing time would help the forward maintain his fitness and sharpness.
“It’s a win-win situation because he will be in good shape by the time the league resumes. That’s why we agreed,” he added.
Amoah is expected to feature regularly for Kotoko during the loan spell as the Porcupine Warriors strengthen their squad in their bid to win the Ghana Premier League.
