Coach Prince Owusu failed to deny arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak SC a win on Sunday at their home grounds – Baba Yara Sports Stadium following a 1-0 narrow defeat.
The Porcupine Warriors suffered a 1-0 lost to the Phobias after failing to deal with a set piece in the 13th minute. The error leading to goalkeeper Mohammed Camara’s net was enough to hand Hearts of Oak SC all three maximum points away.
The victory ensured Hearts of Oak SC ended Asante Kotoko SC invincibility, after 22 matches.
Asante Kotoko SC were on an unbeaten home run since 2025 but lost it with defeat to bitter rivals. The Reds were unbeaten in 18 home league matches though had struggled to harvest three straight wins. With aim of extending their home invincibility, it hit a stack just in front of their numerous fans.
On Sunday, Kotoko fraternity saw their pride taken off by Hearts of Oak SC courtesy Baba Adamu with Coach Prince Owusu leading the charges.
This defeat now, leaves them 5th on the league standings with 35 points, 9 points behind league leaders Medeama SC and four points chasing Hearts of Oak SC on 3rd spot after 22 league matches.
