Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has expressed strong belief in his side’s Ghana Premier League title chances following their crucial 1–0 victory over rivals Asante Kotoko in Kumasi.
According to Asare, the title race remains wide open, insisting that determination among the top contenders will ultimately decide the champion.
“Yes, anyone can still win it. If you look at the top four or five teams, it’s all about determination on the field. If we continue to win our matches, we have a great chance,” he said.
The Black Stars goalkeeper added that lifting the league trophy would be a deserved achievement for the squad, emphasizing that the victory over Kotoko could serve as a turning point for the team’s season.
“Winning the league would be a huge opportunity for us, and I believe most of the players deserve it. This win today will help us be more aggressive and focused in our upcoming matches,” Asare added.
The victory moves Hearts of Oak into second place on the league table with 39 points.
The Phobians will aim to maintain their momentum when they host Berekum Chelsea at the University of Ghana Stadium on Matchday 23.
