Sudan assistant coach, Ignatius Osei-Fosu has urged football authorities to consider scheduling the Super Clash for evening kickoff.
The second Super Clash, matches between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, came off on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
In a post on Twitter after Osei-Fosu appealed to the Ghana Football Association and the Ghana Premier League to reschedule the league’s biggest game on the calendar in the evenings.
“The GPL matches should be played in the evening. Please, Ghana Football Association, Ghana Premier League let this happen. All stadia with lights should do 5pm. The match is beautiful on TV,” he wrote.
Traditionally, high-profile fixtures between the country’s two most successful clubs have been played in the afternoon or late afternoon.
The scheduling change over the years has largely been influenced by safety concerns following Ghana’s worst football tragedy on May 9, 2001, a disaster that occurred involved the two clubs.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak edged their fierce rivals 1-0 in a tightly contested affair.
The crucial victory propelled the Phobians to second place on the league table, intensifying the title race.
