Coach Prince Owusu insist he can handle Asante Kotoko SC as coach despite first welcome address defeat message from arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak SC.
The Ghanaian trainer was on the bench over the weekend at the Kumasi Baba Yara sports stadium when the Continental Club Masters silenced them with a lone goal, courtesy Baba Adamu’s 13th minute goal.
His first assignment did not see daylight, yet coach Prince Owusu confident of turning things around.
Inconsistency in results, led to his boss Karim Zito resigning yet not perturbed with Accra Hearts of Oak SC 1-0 defeat. Says, he’s the right man for the job. Coach Prince Owusu is currently serving in as an interim manager following departure of Karim Zito.
“Losing to Hearts of Oak, makes it difficult for us to win the league”
When asked about his suitability of managing Kotoko as step in coach, he affirmed and not shocked with the first game results.
“Oh yes, there is no two ways about it”
Should, Owusu’s performance exhibit glimpses channelling better results he is likely to be maintained after end of season.
Kotoko will now turn focus, on redeeming image by bouncing back to winning ways with Young Apostles FC in week 23, an encounter far away in Wenchi.
