The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has extended Prosper Narteh Ogum’s spell as head coach of the Black Starlets, committing to a two-year contract extension.
The agreement is aimed at restoring the fortunes of the junior national side while laying a strong developmental foundation for the future of Ghana football. The GFA believes Dr. Ogum’s technical expertise and emphasis on structured player development make him the ideal candidate to guide the team into a new era.
Reacting to his appointment, Dr. Ogum expressed appreciation for the confidence shown in him and outlined his long-term vision for the team.
“I am grateful to the Ghana Football Association for the trust and stability this contract provides. Our focus is clear: to build a technically sound, tactically disciplined and mentally strong team that can compete at the highest level in Africa. We are not just preparing for a tournament; we are building a foundation for the future of Ghana football,” he said.
Dr. Ogum will continue to serve as the GFA’s Head of Education, a dual role that highlights his commitment to technical development, coaching education, and sustainable growth pathways within the Ghanaian game.
The appointment is expected to bring renewed focus to youth development as the Black Starlets aim to re-establish themselves among Africa’s elite and return to consistent success on the continental stage.
