Assistant coach Hamza Obeng says Asante Kotoko SC are determined to respond strongly after their recent 1-0 defeat to Karela United FC in the Ghana Premier League.
Kotoko suffered the narrow loss away from home but the assistant coach insists the team remains focused on improving and delivering a convincing performance in their next outing.
Speaking after the match, Obeng apologized to the supporters for the disappointing result but assured them the team is working hard to bounce back.
“I’ll say we are sorry for losing this game but it’s not over yet,” he told the club’s media.
“We are preparing towards our next game. We are going home to organize ourselves well back at the training grounds and also during our matches to get our win.”
Obeng stressed that the Porcupine Warriors are aiming not just for victory but a dominant performance to restore confidence among their supporters.
“We need to get a massive win so that the supporters will also get their confidence in us as well,” he added.
Kotoko will now turn their attention to their next league fixture against Nations FC as they seek to return to winning ways and strengthen their position in the league standings.
The defeat is a setback for Kotoko as they struggle to find momentum in the stretch of the league, with the technical team now turning attention to their upcoming fixture.
The Porcupines have dropped to goth after the defeat with just a point ahead of Karela who are on 28 points.
