Assistant coach of Ghana Black Stars, John Paintsil strongly believe Ghana will triumph over England when they come face to face at the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be co-hosted by USA, Canada and Mexico mid this year.
Ghana is housed in Group L, where they will face Panama in their opening fixture on June 17. Then a heavyweight encounter with England followed on to June 23, before concluding group phase clash against Croatia on June 27.
Ahead of the Mundial, the Black Stars high-performance coach sees England game as a local derby but optimistic
Ghana will amass victory over the Three Lions.
“Ghana v England is going to be a local derby, but I believe Ghana will carry the day”.
The former Ghana international added that; “Croatia are very threatening; Ghana cannot underestimate them. Otto Addo is a great coach, a leader, and a disciplinarian”
“Ghanaians should give him their maximum support,” he told 3Sports.
Ghana will be making their fourth appearance at the Mundial were they are expected to exhibit high level of performance to secure qualification from Group L.
