MTN FA Cup race enters last four: Former Champions Dreams FC and Medeama SC to light up stage

The race for MTN FA Cup glory is becoming hotter and hotter, after a successful run of games in quarter finals was cleared over the weekend. At the Bechem Nana Fosu Gyeaobour park Aduana FC, Berekum Chelsea, Liberty Youth and Nations FC faced off.

Whiles at the Cape Coast Sports stadium, Attram de Visser, Medeama SC, Kpando Hearts of Lions FC alongside Dreams FC played each other out.

Former winner’s Dreams FC had a tough hurdle to clear when they got drawn with a Premier league club thus Hearts of Lions FC. Despite conceding before break, a late (92nd minute) electrifying goal straight from training grounds levelled game for Dreams FC to stretch game to extra time, courtesy Suraj Seidu.

Lions held the 2023/24 MTN FA Cup champions to a draw after extra time yet suffered a 4-2 defeat via penalty shootouts.

Following this victory, Dreams FC makes it to the last four- semi final of the most prestigious cup in Ghana, MTN FA Cup. They will now come up against a topflight club, Medeama SC in the last four after Medeama SC eliminated Attram di Visser 3-0 in full time duration.

With Dreams FC bent on returning to Africa this season, would have to put in extra work and sharpen their tools before encountering inform Medeama SC.

Meanwhile, a new date and venue for the semi final would be communicated by the competitions committee in the coming days. The stage now leaves four Ghana Premier league clubs to compete for the title and bragging one.

Teams into the last four- Two times winners Medeama SC, one time champion Dreams FC, Nations FC and Aduana FC.
