The Ghana Football Association through head coach Otto Addo, confirmed four newcomers to the Black Stars of Ghana for their upcoming two international friendly matches.
The West African Country is scheduled to play Austria and Germany this month as part of their pre-world cup preparation. In the squad for the assignment, new boy Marvin Senaya who is eligible to play for Ghana and Togo was named.
Marvin, meanwhile has also received callup from Togo for this international break, bringing to the public the reality of Marvin choosing either country.
However, in an interview with Asempa FM in Accra, Communication Director of the GFA Henry Asante Twum affirmed that Marvin Senaya is eligible to play for Ghana and Togo but has chosen Ghana, hence his invite for Austria and Germany games.
“Blackstars new boy Marvin Senaya is eligible to play for both Togo and Ghana, but he has decided to play for Ghana”
“Yes, he’s qualified because his father is a Togolese. There are several circumstances to nationality switch by players. With this, Marvin has accepted to play for Ghana if not we wouldn’t have invited him”, Twum added.
Ghana will play Austria in Vienna on March 27 before traveling to Stuttgart to face Germany on March 30, 2026.
The 25-year old plays in France with Ligue 1 club Auxerre.
