Former Ghana international Lee Addy believes every player named in the Ghana national football team squad for the upcoming friendlies has earned their place and should be fully backed.
Speaking ahead of the matches against Austria and Germany, Addy emphasized that selections made by head coach Otto Addo should be respected, as they are based on tactical needs and careful assessment.
“I believe the coach selects the players based on the tactics he wants to play. We always talk about who deserves to be there, but maybe such players don’t fit the coach’s game plan,” he told ghanasportspage.com.
Addy insisted that anyone handed a call-up has merited it, urging fans to trust the technical team’s decisions.
“But I believe anyone the coach names deserves to be there,” he added, reinforcing his confidence in the squad.
The former defender also called for unity behind the team, noting that belief and support could play a crucial role in helping the Black Stars deliver positive results in the two high-profile friendlies.
