The skipper for Ghana Jordan Ayew has being speaking ahead of their pre-World Cup preparatory game against Austria on Friday, March 27, 2026.

Ghana secured Austria and Germany for the March international window, as part of getting their team ready for the 2026 FIFA World Cup scheduled for summer. Coach Otto Addo assembled 26 players including four debutants, hoping to build team chemistry before the Mundial.

Coming up against Austria and Germany in Vienna and Stuttgart, Jordan Ayew has set sight on recording a positive result from both games, to make a case for their World Cup appearance. Ayew anticipate the Black Stars to deliver in both games.

”Every game is important. Even though we know these two games are really important, previously the other games were important as well. But it’s just that sometimes, it is what it is, you know”

“Coming to these two games, listen, tomorrow’s going to be a tough game, and Monday will be a tough game, so we’ll do our best. We’re, I think, preparing really well, you know, tactically, technically, and physically. We’re looking good, so let’s see what happens tomorrow”, the Leicester City forward said.

“I don’t want to talk too much because obviously, we’ve had a couple of days of training, and what I’ve seen is positive. So we’re ready for tomorrow, and we’ll see if we can get a positive result, because we want to get a positive result, and after, Monday will take care of itself.”

Ghana faces Austria today at the Hans Happel Stadium in an international friendly.

The team held their final training session at the venue in extremely cold conditions, showing focus and readiness ahead of the clash.

They will also take on Germany on Monday after this encounter.
