The Ghana Football Association has confirmed parting ways with Otto Addo as head coach of Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars.
This follows, Black Stars defeat to Germany on Monday night in Stuttgart, suffering a 2-1 defeat.
The former Borussia Dortmund assistant coach in four days, conceded 7 goals and scored just 2 to loss 5-1 to Austria and Germany in Ghana’s pre–World Cup friendly matches in March.
In a statement from the Association, confirmed Otto’s sack: “The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has parted ways with the Head Coach of the senior men’s national team (Black Stars), Otto Addo, effective immediately.
“The Association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours.
“The Ghana Football Association will communicate the new technical direction of the Black Stars in due course.”
Addo’s departure marks another significant change in the technical setup of the national team as Ghana continues its preparations ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026.
He lost five consecutive friendlies, which did not serve well with the authorities having lost to Japan, South Korea, South Africa, Austria and Germany.
