The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt E.S Okraku has given hundred per cent assurance to Ghanaians to secure the services of a good coach with high profile for the Ghana National men’s team.

Kurt, whom his tenure since 2019 has not handed the Black Stars any favour with regards to the level of coaches appointed to manage the team wants fans rally behind him as he go in haunt for a gaffer.

His regime has seen James Kwasi Appiah, Charles Kwabla Akonnor, Milovan Rejevac, Otto Addo and Chris Houghton yet, the Black Stars have yet to inspire and shine at any competition. Nonetheless, Kurt has vowed to ensure a tough coach with high pedigree is named a successor to Otto Addo who was sacked on Monday, following poor performance against Austria and Germany in a pre-world cup game.

The new coach who gets the job who lead Ghana to the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be co-hosted in USA, Canada and Mexico.

“[He] will be the person with the good record of having managed at the club level and hopefully at the national team level, would be someone who has won trophies and generally would be someone who will bring confidence to the changing room”, Kurt said on the next coach.

“The players will look up to that person and say this guy has done it before and he knows what he is talking about. We want to move forward… hopefully, this next one [coach] will be that one that will give everyone the confidence.”

Ghana is housed in Group L with England, Panama and Croatia. They will face Panama in their opening fixture on June 17. A heavyweight encounter with England on June 23, before taking on Croatia on June 27 in their last group-stage campaign.
