Three experienced Portuguese tacticians, Paulo Bento, Carlos Queiroz and Fernando Santos, have emerged as leading contenders for the Black Stars coaching role, according to Sporty TV.
All three managers bring significant World Cup pedigree, having guided national teams on football’s biggest stage. Bento led Portugal national football team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and later took South Korea national football team to the 2022 tournament.
Queiroz also boasts vast experience, managing Portugal and Iran national football team across multiple World Cup campaigns. Meanwhile, Santos guided Greece national football team in 2014 and later handled Portugal at both the 2018 and 2022 editions.
The trio are widely known for their disciplined, defense-oriented tactical approaches. A factor that could influence the Ghana Football Association’s decision as they seek stability and structure for the Black Stars.
With the search intensifying, attention now turns to who will be entrusted with leading Ghana into its next chapter on the international stage.
