Veteran Ghanaian midfielder, Sulley Ali Muntari will be back at Hearts of Oak for pre-season and talks with the club to renew his contract will be held after a meeting with the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Shaributu, according to Ghanasportspage.com.
The club’s stance regarding Muntari’s future has remained unchanged: They are hoping to renew the contract of the experience midfielder despite rumors of joining their bitterest rivals, Asante Kotoko.
The 37-year-old ex-Black Stars midfielder has been out from the club’s training ground for pre-season following the expiration of his contract.
He signed a six-month deal with the Rainbows earlier this year after he had returned from Europe.
The former AC Milan and Inter Milan playmaker played a pivotal role in the Rainbows President’s Cup and FA Cup success in the 2021/22 season.
He has however, eyed a move to play for his dream club Asante Kotoko before he retires from football but the Phobians are hopeful to renew his contract after talks with the National Chief Imam.
Ghanasportspage.com can confirm that Muntari will this morning arrive at the teams pre-season grounds to resume training ahead of the upcoming football season.
“Reserve my jersey number 10 and expect me at the training on Wednesday, 17 August”, a close source told Ghanasportspage.com as stated by the midfielder.
We can also reveal that the experienced midfielder will be having a personal training at the Legon Ajax Park before joining the team in their evening training.
