Asante Kotoko SC beat Ghana Army FC in a second pre-season match ahead of the 2022/2023 upcoming season.
The Porcupines 4-0 victory over second division outfit Ghana Army Academy on Friday morning, 19th August, 2022.
Interim trainer Abdulai Gazeli handed starting berths to new goalkeeper Frederick Asare and Augustine Agyapong, Nicholas Osei Bonsu, Mubarik Yusif and Kwadwo Appau in defence.
Emmanuel Sarkodie, Enoch Morrison, Dickson Afoakwa, Isaac Oppong, Shadrach Addo, and Steven Mukwala all started.
Kotoko showed their intentions clear early in the game as they opened the scoring in the 4th minute through Shadrach Addo, who is on trial.
Addo scored a great goal after a fantastic build-up from the midfield. Isaac Oppong, who had a wonderful start to last season, increased Kotoko’s tally to 2 with a sublime finish in the 26th minute.
With two minutes to end the first half, Dickson Afoakwa netted Kotoko’s third goal with a towering header.
Kotoko paraded a new set of players for the second stanza of the game. Cameroonian shot-stopper MoisePouaty started in posts with Samuel Appiah, Christopher Nettey, Abdul Ganiyu, and Mohammed Sharif in defence.
The rest were Richard Boadu, Serge Eric Zeze, Dickson Afoakwa, Ernest Osei Bonsu, and Sarfo Taylor. Four minutes into the half, Sarfo Taylor netted another goal for the Porcupine Warriors to complete the demolishing exercise.
