The draw for the group stage took place on 25 August 2022, 16:00GMT, in Istanbul, Turkey.
The 32 teams were drawn into eight groups of four. For the draw, the teams were seeded into four pots, each of eight teams, based on the following principles:
The road to Istanbul will begin on 6th September.
A total of 32 teams will compete in the group stage to decide the 16 places in the knockout phase.
Scottish side, Rangers will make their debut appearance in the group stage after 12 years absence.
Current champions, Real Madrid will face Leipzig from Germany, Celtic and Shakhtar Donetsk the 2022/23 Champions League group stage.
The record holders are out to defend their title after downing Liverpool in last season’s final.
The draw saw Carlo Ancelotti’s side drawn in Group F to start their defense race.
The runner-up, Liverpool will also play against Ajax, Napoli and Rangers in Group A of the competition.
