Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum has discussed the readiness of the Black Stars ahead of this evening’s encounter against Brazil.
The senior national soccer team take on the five-time world champions in a preparatory game ahead of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Otto Addo and his men wrapped up their training for the fixture against Tite’s side on Thursday evening.
As reported earlier, the Black Stars look set with positive vibes at the camp in Deauville following the arrival of debutants, Tariq Lamptey, Inaki Williams, Salish Mohammed and others.
Ahead of the encounter, the Communication Director of the GFA has discussed with Accra-based Original 91.9FM how readiness the players are.
He indicated that the players want to demonstrate their qualities to impress the technical team and the football fraternity as well to secure a place in the final squad for the World Cup.
“With the World Cup approaching, everybody want to do something to impress the technical team and the football lovers.
“The stakes are high even though is a friendly match. Yes, our captain has said the three points is what is needed in every tournament but for a friendly game the discussion is not about progression in a competition or picking the three points. We know we are playing a good team, Brazil and it won’t be easy. They have a very strong squad. Individually, they are almost ready for the World Cup checking at their performance and everything but we also have a competent team, quality team. We’ve increased the level of our performance. For our players in camp now and checking at their memo I think we are ready,” he told Gideon Okyere Anim Gatusso.
The match will be played at the Stade Oceane in Le Havre, France at exactly 18:30 GMT (6:30PM Local Time).
