The Ghana Premier League week three action begun on Friday – where Accra Lions defeated newbies, Tamale City 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Great Olympics will also host Kumasi-based King Faisal this afternoon at the same venue. The game is scheduled to kick off at 3:00pm at the Accra Sports stadium.
Having started the season well and yet to lose, the Accra giants will be going out for another win over Alhaji Grusah’s boys. King Faisal haven’t had the best start to their season. They are yet to pick a point after defeats to Berekum Chelsea and Aduana Stars at home.
They hope to get the booster for week four’s action against their city rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Olympics put in a decent shift last weekend, walking away from the Nation’s Wembley with a point after a 1-1 draw with Hearts of Oak. The were on the verge of claiming the maximum points but Hearts bounced back to level through Konadu Yiadom’s late minutes strike.
Today’s clash is the type of game that could really go either way, but the Accra side are the favourites to win. They have the quality advantage over the visitors and will expect second win at home.
In their last five meetings, King Faisal has one win, three for Olympics and one draw.
Olympics sit sixth on the table with four points while King Faisal are found at the bottom of the league log.
