Head coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Seydou Zerbo has reacted to Kotoko’s striking problem again after the team’s first Premier League win of the season.
The reigning champions of the Ghana Premier League defeated Nsoatreman FC 2-1 at the Baba Yara Sports in their outstanding fixture on Wednesday courtesy of Stephen Amankona and Isaac Oppong.
They dominated possession and created a lot of chances but squandered all during the first half. It took the former Chelsea player to score from the spot to put them on the lead.
Asante Kotoko also wasted numerous opportunities during their CAF Champions League game against Rail Club du Kadiogo before playing a 1-1 draw with Hearts of Oak.
However, Seydou Zerbo has made it clear that their striking problem is being caused by individual mistakes and the technical team are still working on it.
Speaking after their 2-1 win over the GPL debutants, he admitted when quizzed about his team’s goal scoring haul.
”Yes, Is true. We’ve had many chances we couldn’t score. Yes, we will work on those things but unfortunatey this is individual mistakes but not the team collectively. You could see that it is individually that had the chances and they couldn’t score. We’ll still try as much as possible to make sure that those people who have been missing the chances will be able to score,” he said.
The Porcupine Warriors will hope to claim another victory when they play as guest to their city rivals, King Faisal at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium on week four on Sunday.
They currently rank 9th with four points on the league log after two games.
