Ghana Premier League giants, Accra Hearts of Oak have appointed David Dickson Ocloo as their new assistant coach as replacement for Hamza Obeng.
The former assistant coach of the club, Hamza Obeng was fired alongside Samuel Boadu following the teams poor start to the new season.
According to the Rainbows, the appointment of the new assistant gaffer takes immediate effect and forms part of the club’s restructuring exercise of the Technical Team.
The 38 year old CAF license A, B & C coaching certificates as well as a certificate in Sports performance and video analysis.
As interim boss, Ocloo will act as the head coach and will be assisted by Samuel Nii Noi until a substantive head coach is appointed in the near future. He is expected to lead the team’s preparations ahead of this weekend’s CAF Confederations Cup first leg game against Real Bamako of Mali in Bamako.
His professional coaching career includes the following clubs, Maranatha FC Togo, Liberty Professionals when they were in the premiership, defunct Wa All Stars, Sahel Sporting Club in Niger and Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
The MTN FA Cup holders who are yet to name a new gaffer warmly welcomed the new deputy manager and stated his appointment forms part of their vision to transform the team in their quest of achieving pre-eminence in Africa.
They however called on their cherished supporters to give him all the necessary support as he starts a new professional path with the team.
