Former Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas took to social media to announce that he is gay. With the announcement, the 41-year-old has become one of the most high-profile players to confirm his homosexuality.
The former Real Madrid goalkeeper posted on Twitter, saying, I hope you respect me, I’m gay.

The former goalkeeper received a lot of support on social media after his announcement. One of his supporters was former Barcelona captain Carles Puyol, who posted saying it’s time to tell our story.
