Fans call for Alhaji Akambi and Vincent Odotei to be sacked from the Hearts board after the team’s early exit from the CAF Confederations Cup.
According to reports, the two controversial officials were held under tight police security at the stadium as numbers grew for their heads after Sunday’s game against Bamako at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The two board members, Sowah Odotei and Alhaji Akambi have come under mounting pressure following the sacking of coach Samuel Boadu.
The fanbase has been left stunned following the sacking of the gaffer who helped them to win five trophies in two seasons.
Some of them are claiming the woes of the club have been worsening with the presence of these two in the club’s administration.
The Rainbows were aiming to make a mark in this season’s CAF Confederations Cup after winning the Ghanaian FA Cup.
However, they started the journey with a 3-0 defeat to ASR Bamako in the second preliminary round first leg in Mali.
Having lost in the opener, they aimed to overturn things in the second leg but their 1-0 win courtesy of Caleb Amankwa’s late-minute strike was not enough for them to advance as the Scorpions progressed with a 3-1 aggregate scoreline into the final qualifying round of the competition.
The exit from the competition sparks controversy, with many on social media and the traditional media decrying Akambi and Odotei’s poor leadership at the club.
