Ghana Football Association President Kurt E.S Okraku has urged Ghanaians to be positive about the Black Stars, support them and respect the technical team.
The GFA capo delivered during the annunciation of the final 26-man squad of the Black on Monday by Otto Addo.
“I believe we have to give the technical team respect, we have to give them the support and we have to pray for them because is not been an easy road. At the end is 26 not 26 million players who must represent our country. On that I will say let’s be positive. We have a capable technical team, we have a good selection of players. Regardless of all the circumstances whether it has to deal with injuries or quality of play etc. 26 men are ready to defend the flag of Ghana. Go Ghana! Go Black Stars!!” he stated.
In the final 26-man squad, there has been a surprise at the goalkeeping department with Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim and Lawrence Ati-Zigi replacing injured Wollacott and Richard Ofori.
The Black Stars squad has been augmented with the inclusion of players like Inaki Williams, Mohammed Salisu, Tariq Lamptey, and many others.
They are expected to assemble in UAE on Tuesday before their test match against Switzerland on Thursday.
The game will take place on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the Baniyas Club Stadium in Abu Dhabi – United Arab Emirates.
The match will give Coach Otto Addo a perfect opponent for the Group H opener against Portugal at the 974 stadium.
The Black Stars will later take on South Korea (November 28) and Uruguay (December 2) while Switzerland face Cameroon (24 November), Brazil (28 November) and Serbia (December 2) on the same days as the “Black Stars” in Group G.
