Amanda Clinton tips Ghana to finish second in Group H; names a viable starting XI against Portugal

Former GFA presidential aspirant, Amanda Clinton has tipped Ghana to finish second in Group H of the World Cup.

She also named Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim in her strong predicted line-up to start against former European champions, Portugal.

Ghana will on Thursday, November commence their journey against the Portuguese national team at Stadium 974 stadium and the Ghanaian business mogul believes the West African side can move beyond the group stage.

While speaking in an interview on Tuesday, she said: “In terms of first eleven, I would say Danlad, the critical player, Kudus Mohammed, Daniel Amartey will be crucial in defence, Gideon Mensah and Mohammed Salisu. The next is Tariq Lamptey (who plays for Brighton). His pace in attacking will be quite great as a wingback. Also essential to the midfield is Thomas Partey. In terms of attackers, we’ve got Sulemana, Jordan Ayew, and crucially Inaki William who plays as a forward for Athletico Bilbao. There are a lot of players I can pick but I mean those are some of the good things… Again the captain Andre Ayew is also very good and and I believe Ghana will finish second behind Portugal in the group,” she told Ghanasportspage.com

Ghana will also battle South Korea and Uruguay after the game against Portugal.

The tournament officially kicked off on Sunday with Ecuador beating the host, Qatar 2-0 at the Al Bayt Stadium.
