Head coach for the Black Galaxies, Annor Walker has serious concerns over Daniel Afriyie Barnieh’s contract with Hearts of Oak.
Coach Annor Walker believes Barnieh will be giving the management at the Black Galaxies a “headache” ahead of the expiration of his contract with Hearts of Oak.
The player will miss the CHAN tournament if decides to leave the shores of Ghana to join a foreign club because the competition is limited to players playing their trade in their domestic leagues.
Barnieh has been in sensational form for Hearts of Oak and the Black Galaxies. He played a key role during the qualifiers against Nigeria and Benin.
The 21-year-old’s future is in doubt at the moment. His current contract is due to expire at the end of the year.
He has rejected Hearts of Oak advances for a renewal after the club failed to reach a deal for the past 12 months.
Multiple reports in the Ghanaian media claim the talented forward has decided to run down his deal and leave for free this month.
He has offers from across Europe, but it is believed he prefers a switch to the Norwegian Premier League, it has been claimed.
The former Rahimo forward is the biggest name on the domestic scene having featured for Ghana’s Under-20, Under-23, Black Galaxies and the Black Stars.
Conversations between the Accra club and the representatives of the Africa U20 Cup of Nations winner has hit a snag as he nears exit but Annor Walker is hoping to see the player performing at the next CHAN tournament which starts from 13th January to 4th February in Algeria.
