• Aduana Stars are unbeaten in Dormaa in the ongoing Premier League after week 10.
• The Fire Boys remain at the top of the league table.
There were no goals, but plenty of entertainment as Aduana Stars and Asante Kotoko played out a goalless draw at the Nana Agyenang Badu Park in the Betpawa Premier League on New Year’s day.
Asante Kotoko edged the game and should have taken advantage of their chances in both halves.
Aduana Stars also had some chances but Kotoko’s solid defence and good goalkeeping by Frederick Asare denied them on a number of occasions. The goalkeeper proved his credentials to keep Kotoko in the game.
Steven Mukwala who scored brace against Bechem United in the MTN FA Cup was in action for the Porcupine Warriors but was unable to find a way past the defenders of Aduana Stars.
Seydou Zerbo’s mission was to stun an Aduana team that hasn’t been beaten at home in the league since the opening day of the season but had to settle for a draw against the league leaders despite their dominance.
The draw leaves Aduana Stars at the first place with 20 points, 2 points ahead of second placed Asante Kotoko.
The teams will be back in action on Sunday, January 8 with Kotoko hosting Great Olympics and Aduana against Bibiani Gold Stars at the Dun’s Park.
