Hearts of Oak got back on track in the Premier League with a 3-2 win over Tamale City on Saturday at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The Rainbows were gifted the lead when Salifu Ibrahim struck from the spot during the 31st minutes but the visitors turned the screw to take the lead courtesy of goals from Isaac Mensah and Sampson Eduku.
However, Benjamin Yorke was once again on the score sheet. He scored the equaliser in the 46th minutes.
And in what was a topsy-turvy game, Caleb Amankwa’s late minutes strike was enough to bring the Phobians back to life.
His 86th minute goal handed Hearts the much needed victory.
The victory sees Hearts of Oak, who suffered defeat against Bechem United on Monday, move up to second ahead of Kumasi Asante Kotoko who face Great Olympics on Sunday.
Tamale City remain seventeenth on the league log from eleven games.
Next stop for Hearts of Oak will be against King Faisal at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on week 12 while Tamale City host defending champions, Asante Kotoko at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
