Legon Cities have qualifed to the round of 16 of the MTN FA Cup with a 4-3 victory on penalties over Great Olympics after playing out a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium in the round of 32.
Despite plenty of attacking intent from both sides in the 90 minutes, it was difficult for the two Premier League clubs to grab a goal.
Legon Cities were dealt a blow in the second half when Dennis Wazorzo was sent off by the referee.
Coach Maxwell Konadu was up on his feet and despite being forced to play with 10 men for the remainder of the 90 minutes, the Royals managed to hold their city rivals.
Penalties were needed to split the two teams, and Sylvester Sackey proved to be the hero for Legon Cities as he denied Olympics twice to help his side to a 4-3 win in the shootout and secure a place in the last sixteen of the MTN FA Cup.
