Defender Sylvester Appiah has opened up on a potential transfer to Accra Hearts of Oak. The Ghanaian international gave a short-ranging interview to Ghanasportspage.com and spoke about his move to play in the Ghana Premier League.
Sylvester has reportedly signed a contract with Accra Hearts of Oak after leaving Dynamos FC in Zimbabwe.
He will be joining the Rainbows on a free transfer after ending his three-year stay with the Zimbabwean club in December.
Sylvester is one of seven players released by the club after they finished third in the league instead of first.
Reacting to the rumours linking him to Hearts of Oak, he said; “Yes, I received offers from two GPL clubs and Hearts of Oak is one. My management have discussed with them but I won’t say team A or B but the deal and the club will be announced soon,” he told Ghanasportspage.com.
In addition, he made clear his desires to be with the Phobians, describing them as one of the biggest club in Ghana.
“Accra Hearts of Oak is one of the biggest club in Ghana as well as Kotoko. It’s every players dream to play for these clubs. Even Muntari played for Hearts of Oak before his retirement. The two clubs played in the CAF Confederations Cup finals 2004 and I will be ready to serve them at the right time,” he added.
According to a close source, Sylvester has started training with the 2020/21 GPL winners. He is expected to be unveiled by the Rainbows, having agreed a two-year deal which could see him playing in the local league as reported.
