Accra Hearts of Oak continued their impressive performance in the Premier League after a painful 1-0 home defeat on Medeama SC at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa
Before the game yesterday, Hearts Of Oak have never won in a Premier League game against the Mauve and Yellow.
Slavko Matic paraded a squad to match Medeama boot for boot and with the injury list of the team tall, the coach deployed Samuel Inkoom at the left back and Amankwah Baafi at the right back respectively.
According to the Serbian trainer, the former U-20 and Asante Kotoko right-back Samuel Inkoom was deployed to the left-back position for a reason.
” Inkoom was playing at the left back so I decided to give him the captains armband to motivate him and that is psychological and we always speak about that,” he said
Kwadwo Obeng Junior’s goal in the first half was enough for the Phobians to return to winning ways after back-to-back draws in the previous two games.
Hearts of Oak also ended their Ghana Premier League winless jinx against Medeama SC in Tarkwa since 2016 after a narrow win on Saturday afternoon.
The Rainbow club moved to second place on the league standings after Saturday’s win with 24 points from 14 matches.
