Accra Hearts of Oak host Legon Cities on Wednesday afternoon in a game the Rainbows really need to win. They can move to the first position depending on the result from the game between Dreams FC and leaders Aduana Stars. A victory will boost their title winning hopes.
The FA Cup holders found the creative spark they were lacking in their last three games in the Premier League and the FA Cup to snatch a vital win against Medeama over the weekend, and the same is needed on Wednesday.
Legon Cities have been on a poor run of late, going winless in their last five top-flight fixtures in a row and Friday’s 3-1 defeat to Bechem United has left them at the 12th position.
Accra Hearts of Oak won’t be at full strength on the south coast as they’re still missing several key squad players. Awako, Suraj Seidu, Konadu Yiadom, and Dennis Korsah are still unavailable despite Ghana’s exit from the CHAN tournament. Salifu Ibrahim is recovering from injury as well as Isaac Mensah.
Salifu was absent from Sunday’s game against Medeama. He didn’t return to the fold following an injury he sustained during their FA Cup round of 32 clash against Dreams FC and he ultimately looks a doubt for Wednesday.
With that all in mind, let’s take a look at who should be available to Slavko Matic to face Legon Cities.
